A quorum of appointed task force members was present at the meeting.

In addition, there were attendees representing DPW BOA, DPW/SFGH, SFPUC Water Conservation, Real Estate, and SFDPH.  

Agenda Items:

1.      Minutes:  Task Force Meeting Minutes of March 9, 2011 were approved as written.

2.      Announcements:  Mark Palmer announced SFO’s initiative to certify the terminal complex under LEED EB O&M (Existing Buildings Operation and Maintenance).  Cyndy Scully of DPH announced a DPH research project focused on the health effects of green affordable housing.  

3.      Policy Development:  The task force reviewed the DRAFT amendment as revised based on review by SF Environment’s Deputy City Attorney, and the timeline for adoption. Houshang Esmaili of SFO brought up concerns about C&D debris recycling and stormwater management requirements as they apply to airport projects.  The Task Force will consider these issues at their next meeting.

4.      Presentation CALGreen and San Francisco Building Code Chapter 13C: Raphael Sperry, of Simon & Associates and public member of the Task Force presented CALGreen, the new state green building code that went into effect Jan. 1, 2011, and SFBC Chapter 13C which adopts CALGreen with local amendments that keep San Francisco’s more stringent green building requirements in place.  San Francisco’s municipal new construction projects must follow both SFBC Chapter 13C and Env Code Chapter 7.
